Antiguan Arrested With More Than 150lbs Of Ganja

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Nov 30 2016 – A man employed by Caribbean Airport Services (CAS) as a Ramp Supervisor, was arrested and charged following a counter-drug operation carried out by the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP).

Arrested is 54-year-old Samuel Friths.

The ONDCP said the operation took place in the parking lot of the Mount St. John’s Medical Center on November 23.

Friths reportedly fell ill during the course of the operation and was immediately hospitalized. He was discharged on November 28.

He was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to transfer, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and drug trafficking.

The drug, which is believed to originate from Jamaica, carries an estimated wholesale value of XCD$624,000.00.

Friths is expected to appear in the St. John’s Magistrate Court today.
