Authorities Investigating Collision Of Two Planes At Guyana Airport

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Nov 29 2016 – The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is to launch an investigation into the collision of two aircraft at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) on Tuesday.

In a brief statement, the GCAA said the incident occurred between the two aircraft around 7:50 am (local time) on the international apron.

It gave no further details, but media reports are that the incident involved an aircraft from the Trinidad-based Caribbean Airlines (CAL) and the Jamaica-based Fly Jamaica.

There were no reports of injuries to passengers.
