Caribbean Hour Heads to the Nature Isle for Dominica Appeal

ROSEAU, Dominica, Sep 27 2015 – The Caribbean Hour, a 60-minute weekly radio programme, is heading to Dominica this week to help the recovery efforts in the wake of Tropical Storm Erika which pummeled the island on August 27.

The storm rampaged the island killing more than 30 people and causing an estimated EC$600 million in widespread destruction.

The programme, which will be broadcast on September 29 and 30 on several radio stations in the Caribbean and North America, will direct listeners across the region, and beyond, to the established fund raising channels.

The broadcast will be aired on G98.7 FM, Toronto; Rizzen FM, St Lucia; NCU FM, Jamaica; Grace FM, Anguilla; Praise FM, St Kitts & Nevis; Praise FM, Cayman; Word FM, Bahamas; Kairi FM, Dominica (also offering studio facilities and tech support); Jem Radio St. Vincent and The Grenadines; Grenada Family Network (GFN); My Refuge Radio (Belize); among others. The broadcast hours are between 06:00 and 09:00 in Jamaica and 07:00 and 10:00 in the Eastern Caribbean.

The programme, which will feature on-the-spot interviews and other interactions with residents, government officials, representatives of charitable organisations and other interests, will be hosted by Arnold Kelly of NCU FM (Jamaica) and Seslyn Maylor of Rizzen FM (St. Lucia).

The Caribbean Hour, a 60-minute weekly programme was launched in Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St Kitts/Nevis, Dominica, and St. Lucia in February 2005.

Caribbean Hour founder and host Arnold Kelly has been recognised for his contribution to the development and advancement of gospel music in the Caribbean, particularly in the area of media.
