Inmate Jumps To His Death At Jamaican Prison

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Aug 24 2016 – The police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of an inmate at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in downtown Kingston earlier this week.

The Department of Correctional Services reports that on Monday, the inmate allegedly jumped from the second floor of the institution.

The 50-year-old man, whose name was not released, was serving a two-year sentence for wounding.

The Department of Correctional Services says the man recently developed mental issues but did not exhibit suicidal tendencies.
