BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, May 15 2015 – A major study on air transport in the Caribbean will be released during the 45th annual meeting of the Board of Governors Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) which gets underway here next Wednesday.

A source close to the meeting told Caribbean News Service (CNS) that the study, entitled: ‘Making Air Transport Work Better for the Caribbean’ was done by Aviation Consultant Captain Ian Brunton.

Brunton previously served as the chief executive officer of Trinidad-based Caribbean Airlines and Antigua-based LIAT.

The meeting, at which the CDB Governors and the President Dr. Warren Smith will address the opening ceremony, brings together leaders from the Bank’s 27 member countries to discuss development needs of the Caribbean.

The meeting will be chaired by the newly elected Prime Minister of St. Kitts-Nevis, Dr. Timothy Harris.

During the two-day meeting, CDB will release its Annual Report, Development Effectiveness Review and Special Development Fund Report which provide a comprehensive look at the Bank’s performance in 2014.

Smith said the meeting allows critical discussions on the future of the Region.
