Police Investigate Shooting At Football Match

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Mar 02 2017 – Police are investigating the circumstances that led to two people, including a 16-year-old, being shot a football match late Wednesday.

Police say 35-year-old Jason White of Fairview, Christ Church suffered two gunshot wounds to his left foot, while 16-year-old Keymar Holligan of Eden Lodge, St Michael was shot once in his left foot during the incident, which occurred around 8:28 p.m.

Both White and Holligan, members of the Belfield football team were playing in a match when White became involved in an altercation with a player from the opposing team.

During the argument, two male supporters of the opposing team ran onto the field and opened fire, hitting White and Holligan.

They were transported to hospital in stable condition.
