Rihanna To Open The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards

NEW YORK, Aug 27 2016 – Rihanna is ready to work, work, work at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

In addition to receiving the Video Vanguard award, the singer will also be opening the show with a special performance.

“Kickin Awf the @MTV #VMAs this Sunday at 9PM ET/PT!,” the bad gal wrote on an Instagram.

The show’s executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic also said that Rihanna would be performing a medley running through “the biggest tracks of her career.” He added, “I can tell you it’s going to be one of those holy crap VMA moments … She’s not playing. She’s bringing it.”

Sunday night (Aug. 28) may be a show of epic proportions given the night’s performers: Britney Spears, Future, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas with Ty Dolla $ign and the Chainsmokers with Halsey.

Riri was also nominated in four categories: best female video for “Work” featuring Drake; best male video as a featured act on Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For”; and twice in best collaboration for the aforementioned duets.
