ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Aug 24 2016 – The police have formally charged a soldier with the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) of breaking into the private residence of Prime Minister Gaston Browne.
The police report that Zavier Baltimore, 22, is scheduled to appear in court after being accused of a criminal offence after he allegedly broke into the home of the Prime Minister while he was overseas on vacation earlier this month.
The police also said that Baltimore could be charged with misbehaviour in public office, but it is not known if he will be charged with larceny.
The soldier was one of several who guarded the Prime Minister’s property daily, since graduating in May.
The Antigua Observer says Commissioner of Police Wendel Robinson confirmed that Baltimore is expected in court this week.
