Two Jamaicans Nabbed With Ganja In Antigua

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Nov 27 2016 – Two Jamaicans were held with more than 170lbs of ganja on Friday, November 25, when the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) conducted a counter-drug operation in the Cedar Grove area.

The ONDCP said a 46-year-old male and a 32-year-old female were held.

The drug which is believed to originate from Jamaica, carries an estimated wholesale value XCD$681,500.00.

A search of the Jamaican male’s residence led to the discovery of a quantity of cash totalling XCD$5,460.45 XCD.

The two were charged with possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to transfer, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and drug trafficking and will appear before the Magistrate on Monday, November 28.
