CASTRIES, St. Lucia, Nov 08 2015 – An aircraft belonging to Hummingbird Air crash landed at the George F. Charles Airport Sunday.

An eyewitness told Caribbean News Service (CNS) that the landing gear failed as the plane landed. Emergency services rushed to the scene but no one was hurt.

In August Hummingbird Air experienced its first accident at the Codrington Airport in Barbuda, where one of its planes veered of the runway and crashed into a nearby field. There were six passengers aboard that aircraft, including company owner Sam Raphael.

The plane was traveling from Antigua to Barbuda and while attempting to land, the right main landing gear collapsed, causing the plane to veer off the runway.

The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) has launched an investigation into the matter.
