2 arrested for illegal entry into Saint Lucia

Two persons were arrested last weekend on suspicion of illegal entry into Saint Lucia.

The disclosure was made by Acting Police Commissioner, Milton Desir, who said the detainees are from Vieux Fort North.

Speaking with Jessy Leonce of the National Television Network (NTN), Desir said the duo were among a group of other persons who fled when they caught sight of the police in the area.

He explained that once police identify the individuals who fled, they will be picked up and placed in quarantine like the two detainees.

“Those individuals are in quarantine for the 14 day period after which we will proceed with the charging for offences they may have committed,” the Acting Police Commissioner said.
