Artwork of Celebrated Antiguan to Feature at Pan Am Games

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, May 19 2015 – The Artwork of Antiguan Artist Heather Doram will be featured at the Textile Museum of Canada’s project Watercolour, this July.

The project will feature sail designs by international artists and is presented in partnership with the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Pan American Games.

Doram was contacted last year by the Textile Museum of Toronto after they had seen images of her work online.

The selected fibre art piece will be reproduced on banners and other promotional materials which will be prominently displayed at the venues and events for the upcoming Pan Am Games to be held in Toronto Canada this year. A

An artist was selected to represent each of the participating countries, and Doram was selected to be the representative from Antigua and Barbuda.

Doram says” “I am truly pleased and honoured to have been selected to represent my country.”

In addition to her artwork, other featured artists include Barbados’ Elizabeth Stewart, Dominica’s Pauline Marcelle, St. Lucia’s Llewellyn Xavier, Jamaica’s Bernard Hoyes and Trinidad and Tobago’s Christopher Cozier.
