A member of the Guyana delegation attending the 13th edition of the Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA XIII) has died, three days after being rushed to hospital.
The woman, who had been showcasing her specially made hats at the CARIFESTA XIII Grand Market, fell ill on Tuesday evening and was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she passed away early Friday morning.
There has been no official statement regarding the death.
CARIFESTA, described as the region’s premier cultural and arts festival, ends here on Sunday.
