Barbados police probe murder at senior citizens home

Barbados police say a resident of a senior citizens home is assisting their investigation into the death of another resident, whose body was found at the facility with stab wounds on Monday night.

“There is a person in custody assisting us with the investigation but we will not disclose any names at this time because of the fact that we have to notify family members,” the acting Senior Superintendent of Police at the Southern Division, Bruce Rowe, told reporters.

He said the police had been called to the Vauxhall Senior Citizens Home on Monday night after being informed that one of the residents had been injured.

He said the police on arrival found the body of the elderly woman who had died of suspected stab wounds.
