British visitor who slapped Barbados bartender in the face fined $500

A British visitor who slapped a bartender in the face after he refused to serve her alcohol after closing time had to part with $500. 

Gillian Kershaw who was staying at a hotel in Hastings, Christ Church was at a pub located in the hotel when she assaulted Ricardo Griffith on November 18.

The 48-year-old was reprimanded and discharged after paying the amount to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court which was imposed by acting Magistrate Sandra Rawlins.

According to the facts read by Station Sergeant Carrison Henry, on the aforementioned date Griffith the bartender served the last drink at 1 a.m.

Most of the customers walked out of the establishment shortly after.

However, Kershaw returned five minutes later demanding the bartender serve her more alcohol. She became incensed when Griffith refused, going as far as to insult him. She then complained to Griffith’s supervisor, insulted him again and proceeded to slap him on the left side of his face.
