Caribbean Airlines Bans Inflight Use Of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Smartphones

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Sep 09 2016 – Following a directive issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA), effective immediately, Caribbean Airlines has enforced a ban on the in-flight use and battery charging of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, on all flights.

The devices are also not allowed to be stored in checked luggage. Passengers are however allowed to transport them in carry-on baggage or on their person.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration of Thursday issued a similar warning to airline passengers urging them not to turn on or charge their Galaxy Note 7 devices while in flight, nor stow them in checked baggage.
