CARICOM accredits new envoy from Kazakhstan

The Republic of Kazakhstan on Wednesday signalled its intention to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) as a new envoy of the Central Asian country was accredited.

Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, CARICOM Secretary General received the letter of credence of Andrian Yelemessov at the headquarters of the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana on March 20 in a brief ceremony.

Secretary-General LaRocque expressed the Community’s appreciation for Kazakhstan’s in the areas of water resource management.

In acknowledging Kazakhstan’s support for sustainable development in Small Island and low-lying coastal Developing States (SIDS) such as those in CARICOM, the Secretary General informed the Ambassador of the Community’s efforts towards becoming a climate resilient region.
