The death toll in Dominica from the passage of the catastrophic Category 5 Hurricane Maria could be as high as 72.
Daniel Carbon, the island’s Chief of Police, provided an update during a press conference this morning.
“We have had confirmed so far 27 deaths; 27 persons are confirmed missing; and we also have additional unconfirmed reports of 18 persons missing,” Carbon said.
“On behalf of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force I would like to express my deepest condolence to the persons and families who lost their loved ones during the passage of Hurricane Maria.”
Lord for those who died during Hurricane Maria, I pray that family members will find much comfort and restoration in you. For those still unaccounted for, I pray that they are alive Where ever they are right now. JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL.
