Dominica police seize millions of dollars worth of illegal drugs at sea

Police say two men are assisting their investigations after a fishing vessel was intercepted and more than two million EC dollars worth of drugs found on board.

Police said that the boat was intercepted over the last weekend and discovered 343 pounds of marijuana and 15 kilogrammes of cocaine on the vessel.

They said the drugs had a street value of EC$2.1 million and that the two Dominican nationals as well as the vessel had been detained.

The police have not yet disclosed the names of the individuals detained but said that their investigations are continuing.
