Opposition spokesman on finance Mark Golding has taken to social media site Facebook apologising to St Catherine East Central MP Alando Terrelonge for homophobic comments he made against his fellow legislator.

“He did not deserve it,” Golding said in the post.

Yesterday, the People’s National Party (PNP) hierarchy denounced comments made by senior members at a constituency meeting in St Catherine East Central on Sunday saying it would not endorse any form of discrimination.

Other PNP members Horace Dalley and Dr Dayton Campbell also made controversial comments.

According to Golding, his disparaging comments happened in a moment of “platform intoxication”.

“I regret getting caught up in the hoopla of a political meeting and indulging in that unworthy form of political discourse,” Golding said in his public apology to Terrelonge.

He said he was sorry particularly because Terrelonge has always treated him with respect and decency and since personally, he advocated for everyone to be treated with respect and decency.
