InterCaribbean Airways Starts Service Between BVI And Puerto Rico

TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands, Jun 01 2016 – InterCaribbean Airways on Wednesday started a new service from the Terrance B Lettsome International Airport to San Juan Puerto Rico.

The airline, founded in the Turks and Caicos Islands 25 years ago, first started operating in the British Virgin Islands in December 2015, with Sunday flights to Antigua.

According to airline officials, the flights to Puerto Rico have started in time for the summer holidays.

“All of these flights are served with EMB 120 equipment, with capacity for 30 passengers,” the airline added.

“We look forward to providing additional options for the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rican citizens and visitors alike, with this new service between Tortola and San Juan, Puerto Rico,” said Chief Executive Officer Trevor Sadler.

The airline operates a fleet of EMB 120, Twin Otters and BE99 aircraft, providing direct service from the Turks and Caicos Islands to Antigua, The Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

International services also include flights between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, with domestic flights operated in The Turks & Caicos Islands and Jamaica.
