JAMAICA – Chronixx, ‘Jr Gong’, Morgan Heritage earn Grammy nominations

The nominees for the 2018 Grammy Awards have been announced with five competitiors in the category for Best Reggae Album.
Chronixx who will perform in Jamaica this weekend, is among the nominees for his critically acclaimed album Chronology.
Joining him are international reggae giant Damian “Jr Gong” Marley with Stony Hill, previous winner Morgan Heritage for their album Avrakadabra, J/Boog with Wash House Ting and Common Kings’ Lost In Paradise.
The major categories are, however, dominated by rap and R&B with JAY-Z leading the pack with eight nominations this year, including nods for album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best rap album.
Kendrick Lamar follows with seven nods, while Bruno Mars is the third most-nominated artist with six.
SZA is 2018’s most Grammy-nominated woman with five nods.
Khalid, Childish Gambino and producer No I.D. also scored five nominations each.
Breakout hip hop artiste Cardi B earned two nominations.
The Grammys will air live on CBS from Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, January 28.
