KPMG donates funds raised for cancer to the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Medical Association

During the months of October and November, KPMG in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean (BEC) engaged in a special campaign across Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent to raise funds for breast and prostate cancers, respectively.

Dubbed the “Pink Challenge,” for every day in October that staff across KPMG BEC wore an article of pink clothing, the firm pledged funds to match the article of clothing worn.

Similarly, for every Friday in November during the “Blue Challenge,” for every article of blue clothing worn, the firm pledged funds accordingly, allowing the group to donate to the respective Cancer Societies across all four islands.

Partner of the St. Vincent and Grenadines firm, Brian Glasgow noted, “We are proud to support the work of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association as they continue to make strides against breast and prostate cancers. We will continue to play our part in St. Vincent to support the work of this important organization, and to contribute to other causes on the island which support cancer awareness.”

Dr. Rosalind Ambrose, president of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association expressed her gratitude for the donation, indicating that the funds will be very useful for the support of their programmes.

The Association has been active for more than a decade, and raises funds for the treatment of cancer patients in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, including treatment costs for patients abroad, and often times includes flight coverage.
