Magnitude 3.2 earthquake felt in eastern Jamaica

Sections of the Corporate Area and the eastern parish of Portland were rocked by a magnitude 3.2 earthquake on Sunday afternoon.

The Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus said the epicenter of the earthquake was recorded near the Blue Mountain peak at 4:50 p.m. (local time).

There are no reports of fatalities, injuries or damage to property.

This was the latest in a number of earthquakes in the Caribbean in recent days.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 was felt in sections of the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 was recorded south of Barbados Saturday afternoon, while a 4.1 magnitude quake occurred at 1:53 a.m. north east of Fort-de-France, Martinique on Friday.
