BRADES, Montserrat, Sept. 12, 2014, CNS – Donaldson Romeo is poised to be the new Premier of this tiny British Overseas Territory following general elections held here on Thursday.
While the counting of the ballots continues, it points to a clear victory for the businessman.
Speaking on local radio in the wee hours of the morning, Romeo thanked voters for the confidence placed in his party to form the next government.
He reiterated his party’s slogan of putting people first and appealed for a united Montserrat.
The premier elect affirmed that his administration will stick to their manifesto pledges.
Leader of the Movement for Change and Prosperity (MCAP) Reuben T. Meade conceded early this morning on local radio.
