PM invites Canadians to destress in Barbados

Prime Minister Mia Mottley extended an invitation to Canadians to visit Barbados for relief from the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mottley, as Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Chair, has written a letter to the Canadian Prime Minister asking public health officials to start a discussion about the potential for Canadians to travel to Barbados again.

She revealed consultations are continuing to see how best the island can be reopened in the safest of ways.

Given Barbados and the region’s dependence on tourism, Mottley says the countries in the Caribbean cannot remain closed.
