ST KITTS – Robbers clean out cottage; money from Vibes Bar

Two daring robberies were reported over the weekend in St. Kitts, with thieves making off with more than EC$300,000 in furniture, valuables and cash.

Last Thursday night, robbers emptied the Mattingly Heights cottage of a prominent retired businessman. No one occupied the cottage at the time.

“The cottage was cleaned out of almost everything,” a reliable source said. Furniture and valuables were removed leaving the house looking like a “dancehall.”

The furniture, valuables and other household effects run into well over EC$300,000 said another source.

On Monday morning word spread that Vibes Beach Bar on the popular Frigate Bay Strip was broken into and nearly EC$10,000 was stolen.
