Trinidad rattled by earthquake

PORT-OF-SPAIN, May 29 2017 – An earthquake with a magnitude 4.0 rocked sections of the country late Sunday.

The Seismic Research Centre at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine campus, reports that the quake, which occurred at 7:06 p.m. (local time) was felt widely in Trinidad.

The tremor, with a depth of 3km, was located at Latitude 10.51 degrees North and Longitude 61.86 West.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
