Vincentian police officer wanted in Nevis captured in Antigua

A St Vincent-born police officer wanted in Nevis, and who was on the run, has been captured in neighboring Antigua and Barbuda.

He was found hiding on Redonda.

Police Constable Elrick Julano Clarke is expected to be returned to St Kitts.

Clarke is wanted for the alleged unlawful carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old girl committed in Nevis.

The National Joint Coordination Centre in Antigua had placed the region on alert in a bulletin dated Oct. 25, which advised the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB), the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF), The Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Police (ONDCP), Immigration and Customs “to be on the lookout for Elrick Julano Clarke and if sighted to be detained.”

The NJCC indicated Clarke was wanted for the alleged offence committed on Oct. 15, 2019.

Redonda is an uninhabited island off Antigua and Barbuda. The island is about 1.6 kilometres long, 0.5 kilometres wide, and is 296 metres high at its highest point.
