An American citizen, who was reportedly caught with ammunition in his luggage when he tried to board a flight at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Saturday, has been charged.
He has been identified as 41-year-old Shane Samuels of Los Angeles, Texas.
Samuels is charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition.
According to reports, about 9:45 am, Samuels was about to board a flight when his luggage was scanned and one magazine containing 15 9mm rounds of ammunition was reportedly found.
The police were summoned and Samuels was arrested and charged.
He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Friday, April 28.
