Antigua Police Seize Cocaine And Compressed Marijuana; Vincentians Arrested

 ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Apr 10 2016 – Police said they seized 533lbs of compressed cannabis and 5.6kilos of cocaine during an operation in the Shell Beach area.

During the operation, 70-year-old Marcus Richards, a Vincentian national residing in Antigua and 37-year-old Erskine Todd of St. Vincent were arrested.

The cannabis has an estimated wholesale value of $1,066,000.00 while the estimated wholesale value of the cocaine was placed at $197,288.00.

Both men were charged with possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and drug trafficking, while they also received additional charges of possession of cocaine, and being concerned in the supply of cocaine and drug trafficking.

They are expected to appear before a Magistrate on Monday.
