ANTIGUA – Sargassum seaweed forces closure of St James’ Club

The St James’s Club, one of Antigua’s premier hotels, is closing as a result of the Sargassum seaweed invasion.

The hotel will close from July 1 until October 1.

Guests staying at the hotel will be transferred to other properties.

The hotel has been battling the invasion of the Sargassum seaweed which has overwhelmed its shores.

The Government recently announced that it is buying two machines to tackle the problem.
