Antiguan Atlantic rower and co-accused on trial for drugs

Rowan Bailey, 55, a member of the 2016 Team Wadadli Atlantic Rowers is one of two men on trial in the High Court in a major drug case. The other is Kenneth Wyre, 56.

The two were arrested in 2010 after ONDCP officers allegedly found them with more than 50 kilos of cocaine.

They were charged with possession of the control drug, possession with intent to supply and drug trafficking.

The incident occurred in Clarks Hill as the men were allegedly transferring the drugs between vehicles.

Bailey, also known as Archie Bailey, was on bail for this offence when he became a member of Team Wadadli Atlantic Rowers – the first local team to participate in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge. They arrived at Nelson’s Dockyard in early 2016.
