Barbados PM to undergo medical procedure

CARICOM chairman Mia Mottley is to take a break from Government to undergo a medical procedure.

Mottley, who is also the Prime Minister of Barbados, made the disclosure in a national broadcast on Thursday night.

She did not provide details but said the procedure would be done this weekend.

In her absence, Education Minister Sanita Bradshaw will act as Prime Minister.

In the meantime, Mottley said Barbados’ COVID-19 team will continue operations.

“I know I will be well,” said Mottley adding that she was seeking to avert potential rumours.
