BARBADOS – Vincentian man held with drugs

Members of the Drug Squad on Friday arrested and charged Vincentian national, 23-year-old Kamol Wendel Muckett for several offences which he committed whilst at the Shallow Draught, Bridgetown Port, St Michael.

Muckett, of Union Vale, Port Elizabeth, St Vincent, has been charged possession of cannabis, trafficking in cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, importation of cannabis, possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine, and importation of cocaine.

Police say Muckett arrived in Barbados about 6:15 a.m. on board the motor vessel “Melinda 2” which was berthed at the Shallow Draught.

A search of this vessel was conducted by personnel from the Drug Squad, Customs and Coast Guard.  Two packages were found during the search, one containing suspected cannabis and the other suspected cocaine.

Muckett was subsequently arrested in connection with the drugs found.

The weight of the cocaine is 0.97kgs with an estimated street value of $48,500 and the weight of the cannabis is 1.35kgs with an estimated street value of $5,400.
