Police have found the body of an American woman inside her rented vehicle in the Placencia area.
Police said that around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, they were on mobile patrol on the Placencia Peninsula main road situated between Seine Bight and Placencia.
There, officers observed a parked grey Mitsubishi SUV in a vacant property on the left hand side of the road, about 75 yards off the main road.
Officers made further checks on the vehicle where they observed the remains in an advanced state of decomposition.
The woman was dressed in a long black pants and a green checkered blouse lying face down.
Investigations revealed that the Mitsubishi SUV was rented by Kimberly Lin Stephens, 55, who resided in Washington.
She originally rented it on Saturday, December 16.
