A Salvadoran national working as a taxi driver in Belize was found guilty this week of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old minor in his cab in January.
According to reports, Nestor Gallindo, was hired to pick up the minor from school. The minor told the court that when he arrived for her, Gallindo seemed to be under the influence of alcohol so she sat in the back. On the way to her destination, however, Gallindo caressed and touched her legs twice.
The minor reported that she started to cry before Gallindo told her not to say anything or he would have her mother fired from her job. The minor reported the incident anyway.
Gallindo was found guilty and will return to court on December 4 for sentencing.
