BHTA announces new Board of Directors

There’s a new Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) and despite current challenges, he says he’s optimistic about the future.

Geoffrey Roach was appointed to the position at the BHTA’s recent Annual General Meeting and will serve for two years.

“I know that as long as we join hands and work collaboratively, no matter what role we play or what organization we represent, the diamond that is Barbados will shine bright. I look forward to working with each of you as we move the organization forward,” Roach said.

The Board, which will serve from 2020 to 2021, includes Immediate Past Chairman – Stephen Austin, First Vice Chairman – Soni Kessuram, Second Vice Chairman – Javon Griffith, Director of Finance – Jo-Ann Roett and Director – Direct Tourism Services (DTS) – Kavita Sandiford.

Category Chairpersons on the Board are Alfredo Giovine – Chairperson   DTS, Karen Capaldi – Chairperson Luxury, Tammy LeBlanc – Chairperson ‘A’ Class, Cecile Harewood-Gibson – Chairperson ‘B’ Class & Apartments and Andrew Mallalieu – Chairperson Vacation Rentals.

CEO of the BHTA Senator Rudy Grant also sits on the Board, as well as Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., (BTMI) representative Robert Chase and Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) representative Patricia Affonso-Dass.
