British Man Held With Camera Stolen From Airport

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Feb 08 2016 – A British man who currently resides here was arrested and charged for the theft of a CCTV Camera, valued over $10,000. He was identified as Matthew Lewis, 22.

Police said the camera is the property of the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority, which Lewis allegedly stole from the old terminal building at the V.C. Bird International Airport on January 19, 2016.

The police, through intelligence executed a Warrant at his home and found him in possession of the camera.

During the search the police also found six 20 gauge shotgun cartridges, a bullet proof vest, a Motorola VHF Radio, a Flare Gun and a BB gun. The items were seized by the police and taken to the station. Lewis was taken into custody and charged with the Larceny and Receiving of the items. He is due before the court Monday.
