Case Against Jamaicans Dismissed

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Nov 03 2016 – Two Jamaicans were recently handed over to immigration officials after the court dismissed a case against them.

Shammare Tevin Cole, 19, and Omar David Smith, 34, who both resided in Suttle Street, St Michael, were charged along with Barbadians Damian Omar Bynoe, 20, of Deacons Main Road, St Michael and Tremaine Dario Yarde, 24, of Rock Gap, Spooner Hill, St Michael with entering the residence of Kenrick Tugwell as trespassers between March 10 and 11 this year, and stealing $3,000.

They had pleaded not guilty to the offence when they first appeared in court back in March.

When the matter came up before Magistrate Douglas Frederick recently, the prosecution informed the court that the complainant, who is also a Jamaican, had left the jurisdiction and the Crown was unsure whether he would return.

As such, the magistrate dismissed the matter. (Barbados TODAY)
