CAYMAN ISLANDS – Taxi driver in court for car crash which killed Jamaican doctor

A taxi driver has made his initial appearance in a court in Cayman regarding last year’s motor vehicle crash which claimed the life of a Jamaican doctor.

Roy Clivey Tamasa, who is facing two charges, was in court on Monday.

He is charged with Causing Death by Wreckless Driving and Causing Death by Dangerous Driving.

The charges stem from July 28 incident at the Owen Roberts International Airport in which Tamasa, who was driving a silver Toyota Hiace van, struck Dr. Veary Anetta Jones Leslie who was visiting from Jamaica.

Dr. Leslie succumbed to her injuries.

Tamasa was charged on January 12.
