ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Aug 04 2015 – Chinese national, Mia Yuying, 58, of McKinnons has died from a car crash, making her the 10th road fatality for the year.
Her husband, Zhao Nian Pan, 59, was the driver during the single car incident.
They were going south to north on Roman Hill, in Liberta in a brown Honda CRV when the accident occurred. The impact occurred as they were going down an incline near Builder’s Merchants Ltd.
According to the police, the driver said he was tired and his eyes closed for a moment. When he opened them, he realised the vehicle was heading towards a culvert on the right side of the road.
Instead of applying the brake, he told the police, he accelerated.
The vehicle hit the culvert, flipped on impact and landed on its roof in a gutter.
