DOMINICA – Bahamas PM visits and hands over funds raised by citizens

Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Dr. Hubert Minnis; Bahamian Minister of Financial Services & Immigration, Brent Symonette and other officials from The Bahamas including the Head of NEMA, Christian Council, and Teachers Association visited Dominica on Monday.

PM Minnis and his delegation received an aerial tour of the island to see the damage left behind by Hurricane Maria shortly after landing at Douglas-Charles Airport, flying direct from the Bahamas to Dominica.

Following his aerial tour, Prime Minister Minnis arrived in Roseau by helicopter, landing at Windsor Park Stadium and was greeted by Dominica’s Foreign Minister Francine Baron and National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit then met with Prime Minister Minnis and his delegation at his office in the Financial Centre on Kennedy Avenue. At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Minnis handed over two cheques totalling US$60,000.00 – funds raised by citizens in the Bahamas
