ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Jan 12 2016, CNS – Former Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer was questioned by the police Tuesday in relation to an ongoing probe into buses donated by the government of South Korea which were subsequently registered in the names of three former ministers.
The probe involves former finance minister and current political leader of the United Progressive Party (UPPS) Harold Lovell; former education minister Dr. Jacqui Quinn and former public works minister Wilmouth Daniel.
Spencer has admitted to lobbying for the buses but he says the former United Nations ambassador Dr. John Ashe finalised the arrangements.
Mr. Spencer’s UPP was defeated in the general elections held in June 2014.
