CASTRIES, St. Lucia, Sept. 25, 2014 – A former beauty queen who was found dead in her home yesterday was days away from giving birth, relatives have confirmed.
Janel Pierre, 27, a former Miss Gros Islet contestant, was nine months pregnant and due for delivery on October 6.
However she was found lying on the floor of her Reduit home yesterday afternoon covered in vomit.
The discovery was made by her mother – Lucia Pierre who says the family is devastated by the turn of events.
The deceased reportedly complained of acid reflux when she visited the doctor on Monday.
Ms. Pierre says her daughter had suffered from no other medical problems that she knew of.
A post mortem has been scheduled for Saturday to determine the cause of death.
