Former Jamaica PM PJ Patterson discharged from hospital

Former Jamaica Prime Minister, PJ Patterson, is now resting at home after being discharged from the Tony Thwaites Wing of the University Hospital of the West Indies Monday afternoon.

Patterson was discharged after a comprehensive medical review following surgery to repair damage to his right hip and knee, which resulted from an accident a week ago.

Noting that a strict visitor policy will be enforced to ensure progress and steady recuperation for Patterson, the People’s National Party (PNP) in a press release said the former Prime Minister will recover at home, under the care of a medical team.

The PNP added that upon leaving the hospital yesterday, the former prime minister in thanking the medical team which attended to him during his week-long stay said “their professionalism and skill were simply amazing”.

Patterson also thanked all well-wishers and supporters for their prayers, visits, calls and expressions of good wishes, which he said provided comfort and sustained him during his hospital stay.
