ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Nov 20 2015 – Former justice and public safety minister Colin Derrick will return to court on February 3 on four charges stemming from an alleged incident at a town hall meeting involving Prime Minister Gaston Browne earlier this week.

Derrick and co-accused Camisha Henry appeared before Magistrate Conliffe Clarke on Thursday and were released on the station bail of EC$7,000 each.

Derrick was detained by police following the incident and charged with battery on police, resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer from executing his duties and disorderly conduct by making noise.

The charges stem from an interaction between a senior police officer and Henry, who was at the town hall meeting.

Henry faces similar charges like Derrick as well as using indecent language.

Derrick said he’s certain the charges will not stick at trial, as there’s video and other evidence to support his defense. (CMC)
