Former National Security Minister Arrested

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Nov 18 2015 – Former National Security Minister Collin “Counselor” Derrick was arrested on Tuesday.

At the time of his arrest, Derrick was at a meeting hosted by St. John’s City West Member of Parliament and Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Contacted by Caribbean News Service (CNS), police spokesman Sergeant Frankie Thomas said Derrick “was taken into custody to prevent a further breach of the peace.”

Derrick remains in police custody.

A lawyer by profession, Derrick is one of the founding members of the United Progressive Party (UPP).
