Prime Dr Keith Mitchell Sunday night announced that he will ask the Governor General to dissolve Parliament on Monday, Jan 29, paving the way for a general election on Tuesday, March 13.
Addressing party supporters at a rally in the capital, Mitchell said Nomination Day will be on Tuesday, February 20.
Election writs will be issued on Tuesday of this week.
Mitchell has previously said he has no intention of losing any of the 15 seats his New National Party won in the 2013 poll to the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
