A senior police officer was granted EC$8,000 bail after he was charged with two counts of indecent assault on Wednesday.
The officer, who was not identified and did not make a court appearance, was detained on Tuesday. Police have so far refused to disclose the name of the 55-year-old senior cop, whose application for bail was made by one of his colleagues in court.
“All I can tell you now is that yes a police officer was charged with two counts of indecent assault, he is 55 and is on EC$8,000 bail,” said a spokesman for the Community Relations Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force
The police officer was charged following an internal investigation after he was accused by a female visitor to the island who had gone to the South St George’s Police station to file a matter involving child abuse.
